Yad Vashem is Israel's holocaust museum and memorial. Located on Har Hazikaron in Jerusalem, the almost 2 million square foot complex contains the Holocaust History Museum, and various memorial and education sites. The History Museum which opened in May 2005, is a 590 foot long triangular shaped structure. The visitor travels down a stark tall hallway and explores ten exhibitions that chronicles the holocaust chronologically.

In addition the museum catalogs and collects evidence of the holocaust, making it the largest collection of Holocaust documentation in the world.

Things you should know:

Children under the age of 10, babies in strollers or carriers are not permitted to enter.

Opening Hours

Sunday to Thursday:             ‬9:00 am -5:00 pm
Fridays and Holiday eves:      ‬9:00 am - 2:00 pm
On Thursdays, The Holocaust History Museum, Museum of Holocaust Art, Exhibitions Pavilion and Synagogue are open until 20:00
Entrance to the Holocaust History Museum is permitted until one hour before closing.
Prices and reservations:
Entrance to the museum free and does not require a reservation.
